Yuba River

The Yuba's been a gem all season and it hasn't disappointed lately as it continues to fish well. Most fish come under an indicator but Andrew and I, mostly Andrew, were able to get some explosive hopper eats. Like the Feather and Lower Sac, the Yuba has an egg bite Oct & Nov, which delivers excellent fishing. I might even give it a 5 star rating but TBD.

Considering a day trip? The Yuba's been a gem all year and continues to fish well. It's an easy day trip from the Bay Area or from Sacramento. Hopper action hasn't been stellar this year but it's been decent on some days it's a viable option if you commit to throwing dries. September will fish well while October and November usher in the egg bite as more salmon move into the system. The Yuba gets an annual run of valley steelhead that can help put a few numbers down on your report card without the drive, wet and cold temps of the coast.
