OWYHEE RIVER (Lower): brown trout, hatchery rainbow trout
The Owyhee River is currently very high and flooding. Flows are about 2500 cfs below the dam, but that has been variable day to day. Anglers can check current here.
Be sure to scroll down and change it from the default gauge height to cfs.
Dry fly fishing may be a little tough right now. Anglers may have better luck fishing streamer patterns or larger nymphs under stonefly patterns.
The best fishing will be in the upper six miles of the Lower Owyhee below the dam. Crankbaits, spoons and spinners can also be productive. Last updated 4/2/2025
