Beaver River

<b>Cottonwood Fire:</b> There has likely been a complete loss of fish in the Upper Beaver River due to the ash, sediment, and debris flows after monsoon storms hit the burned areas of the Cottonwood Fire in the summer of 2026. Additionally, the area is closed due to the unsafe conditions possible from flooding. The Upper Beaver River fishery will be reestablished as the burned area revegetates and conditions for trout improves over the next several years.<br>

<b>Fall Fishing Forecast (September – November):</b> Stream flows are much lower once irrigation releases from Minersville Reservoir end, so walk lightly and work on your stealth skills to avoid spooking fish. Brown trout get aggressive in the fall as they prepare to spawn and can be effectively caught with various flies (streamers, egg patterns), lures (spinners, Rapalas), and jigs (marabou, tubes). Individual fish spawn at various times, so there will always be a few fish in pre-spawn aggression mode or post-spawn feeding mode.<br><br>

<b>Cottonwood Fire:</b> There have been major fish kills in some of the drainages upstream of the Lower Beaver River due to the ash, sediment, and debris flows after monsoon storms hit the burned areas of the Cottonwood Fire. However, the Lower Beaver River has not yet experienced any fish kills.<br>
