Flows are dropping with cooler days, but warm weather and wind may cause the flows to bump. This can be a fantastic time of year to find larger fish as the water is still cool and they are chowing.
Caddis larva, mayfly nymphs, and even stonefly nymph rigs are a must. Streamer fishing this time of year can be great. Watch for hatches of baetis midday too for dry fly action
Patterns/Bugs:
Nymphs: Prince Nymphs and variants 14-18, RIOs Raindrop 14-16, TBH Jig Caddis 14-18, Czechmate 14-16, Hydropsyche Caddis nymph 14-16, Olive Cased Caddis 16-18.
Pheasant Tails 18-22, Micro Mayfly 16-20, Killer Mayfly Brown and Olive 18-20, Grey and Brown RS-2 20-22. Rainbow Warrior 18-22,
Dries: Vis-a-Dun Baetis 18-22, Smoke Jumper Baetis 18-22, Parachute Adams 16-22.
Streamers: Sculpzilla, Sculpinator, Heisenberg, Mini Dungeons, Sparkle Minnows.
