Its hitting 70 degrees today with wind, which means 2 things: allergies and the Animas is going to get dirty.
With warm weather, we will start to see the beginnings of runoff, so finding a fish will require you to go big with your flies. Big dark and flashy streamers, and big juicy nymphs.
There may be Baetis coming off as well.
Patterns/Bugs:
Nymphs: Pheasant tails 14-18, Hydropsyche Caddis nymph 14-16, Rainbow Warrior 18-22, Pats Rubberlegs 4-8, 20 Incher 8-10, Schmidts TB CDC Hares Ear 10-12, Cranefly Larva 6-10.
Streamers: Sculpinator, Meat Whistle, Dungeons, Cheech Leech, Flugenzombie.
