<b>Fall Fishing Forecast (September – November):</b> Brown trout get aggressive in the fall as they prepare to spawn and can be effectively caught with various flies (streamers, egg patterns), lures (spinners, Rapalas), and jigs (marabou, tubes). Individual fish spawn at various times, so there will usually always be a few fish in pre-spawn aggression mode or post-spawn feeding mode. The open meadows are an ideal place to practice your fly casting. Terrestrial flies like foam hoppers and ants can provide some exciting action during the summer and early fall. Focus fishing efforts during early morning and late afternoon/evening while temperatures are still warm.

<b>Fire Impacts:</b> The Left Fork Fire in 2022 and France Canyon Fire in 2025 burned heavily through the Upper Kanab Creek and Blubber Creek drainages. Summer rain storms can wash large amounts of ash into the stream after these events potentially killing fish. Luckily fish in Upper Kanab Creek and Blubber Creek survived any ash flows that happened. Summer sampling showed abundant fish in both Blubber and Kanab Creeks, with some reaching sizes up to 14-16 inches. The upper East Fork Sevier River, from Kanab Creek downstream to Tropic Reservoir, appeared to have also suffered some losses of fish due to ash flows. While fish in this section are not as abundant as they used to be, there are still opportunities for catching good sized fish. The East Fork and all tributaries upstream of Kanab Creek were unaffected by the fire and still have abundant trout. <br>
