We all get use to tossing big dry flies and the Yakima is a great big dry fly river. However, remember most of a trouts diet is smaller stuff. Fishing a number 14-18 single dry is not a bad idea..even while searching. Purple Haze, Parachute Adams, Royal Parachute, Hair Stackers etc etc Are all good options.

This fall season is the far and fine of the Yakima. Your nymphs as overall rule need to be in the # 16-20 sizes. Thats not to say you cant catch fish on bigger nymphs, because you can. But as we get in to the heart of Fall Late Sept and October, the predominant bug will be the Baetis and they tend to be LITTLE
