BREITENBUSH RIVER: Trout
This river feeds into Detroit Reservoir and offers several campgrounds along its steep, narrow course. It was stocked for the last time in mid-August with 900 hatchery trout. Flies or other light tackle work best, but bait is allowed. Anglers are allowed to keep 5 trout per day. Outplanted Chinook have mostly completed their spawning. Please give these fish enough room to complete the process and keep dogs away from carcasses, as they contain a toxin that can be lethal to dogs if eaten. Last updated 10/05/26.
