Difficulty: Beginner/Intermediate
Clear Creek has been moderately productive in recent days. Flows are low and clarity is high so be prepared for some skittish trout. Walk with caution when moving about the water and along the banks. The mornings have been slow with cool weather, but the afternoons have been fairly consistent. The dry dropper continues to produce the best results and is a great way to pick apart the water. While you should make sure to hit the obvious runs and pools, dont forget to cover the shallow pockets, riffles and seams, especially along the banks. These trout are eager and are generally not too selective when it comes to your flies. That said, you may need to cycle through a number of patterns before you hone it in. In general, small searcher/attractor patterns seem to produce the best results, but if you are not seeing any action transition to a small midge/baetis set up.
