Updated 7/20/26 The flows of the St. Vrain at Peaceful Valley are running at 23 cfs and the fishing has been reported very good at Wild Basin. Squirmy worms/small chenille worms in pink and purple. Nymphs, Small pheasant tails, Sparkle wing RS2, Copper ribbed RS2, small Midge patterns like the Pale Ale, Bling midge and Zebra midge, Egg patterns. Afternoon when the water warms and hatch activity starts to increase, Try Parachute Adams, Adams, Red Quills ,UV Cinnamon Parachutes, Yellow Sallies, Purple Mini Garcias, PMDs Even small hopper patterns like Chubby Chernobyl, Hippie Stompers with a smaller dry flies in tow have all been working throughout the afternoon into the evenings. The Deeper/slow moving waters try wooly Buggers in Olive, Blk. Dead Drift or stripped will produce trout holding deep.

Squirmy worms/small chenille worms in pink and purple. Small pheasant tails, Rainbow warrior, Sparkle wing RS2, Copper ribbed RS2, small Midge patterns like the Pale Ale, Bling midge and Zebra midge, Egg patterns. Squirmy worm patterns, San Juan worms, cdc pheasant tails, Copper ribbed and Sparkle wing RS2, small pheasant tails, small Zebra Midge and Blue poison tung. With warmer temps Dry Dropper patterns and double Dry fly patterns will work well. Try Parachute Adams Purple Haze, BWO and Ext body BWOs Elk/Deer Caddis flies.
